One of the largest Alligator Gar been sighted exceeding 12 feet. They don’t bite humans. The waters are Wonderfull swimming from the beach in front of the cabin. The bird life is truly special from the dawn chorus to the migratory species in the fall and spring. The ranch is on the migratory route and is an important rest lake for about every species in the United States. Hunting is not allowed and the birds know it so close observation from the cabin is often possible. The cabin is 4000 sq. Feet on two floors With wrap round porches for enjoying morning coffee. The reserve is very sympathetically managed with cattle grazing to keep the extensive woods open.

A major draw for night life is the 100,000 sq foot Choctaw Grant Casino. It is rumoured to be the best paying casino on Red river. Most table games are available and many slot machines some with large payouts. It is situated one quarter mile from ranch entrance. Your resident manager may make coffee and basic breakfast in the morning and has a host of great stories about the area. We hope to be ready for opening for July 4th. Lovely unspoilt city of Grant which is now very sleepy and since it has never incorporated so is really a village. It has a very interesting history when county seat until railroad came through which included two banks which held up reputatedly by Belle Starr Jesse James. Many outlaws hid out in Indian territory and the recorded histories are fascinating. The city of Hugo 5 miles has a very interesting and well preserved downtown including the amazing Harvey House Museum which has truly amazing collection of artifacts and original restoration of the coffe bar upstairs is a authentic display of how the Harvey House girls lived. At the time it was the third largest Harvey house in the country it was closed In the 1920’s and abandoned until a group of citizens cleaned it up and opened the museum. As it was just abandoned all the original fittings are in place right down to china urinals. One feels one is walking Back into the great age of rail travel. With Roebuck lake cabin which can sleep 14 in two bedrooms and two large lofts there is plenty to do.
