We welcome you to explore the magic of Sunset Ridge Chalet (aka SRC). Ideally situated within the Hudson Valley/Berkshires cultural corridor, SRC offers unparalleled panoramic sunset views of the mountains. Sitting on 7 private acres the Chalet offers our guests the unique opportunity to disconnect from their busy lives and reconnect with themselves, family, or friends. Imagine starting the day with sunrise yoga on the mahogany deck and ending it with sunset cocktails on the same deck.
My name is Kristin Schaefer Schiumo. I have been passionate about travel throughout my life and blessed to be exposed to many different cultures. More than 20 years ago my husband (then boyfriend) and I had breakfast at the Park Plaza Diner in Brooklyn Heights and fantasized about someday having “a little place in the country”. Now my husband and I welcome you to our dream realized…Sunset Ridge Chalet or simply “Sunset Ridge”. Host interaction with the guests is primarily up to the guests. If there are any questions or concerns the host can be reached via cell phone or email and will receive a response in no more than 2 hours, and typically more quickly.
Sunset Ridge is located in an area that real estate folks are beginning to refer to as "the Hudsonshires”. That is, a portion of the eastern Hudson Valley that affords remarkably quick access to the cultural, culinary and outdoor pleasures and activities of both the Hudson Valley and the Berkshires. Sunset Ridge is located on a gravel road just minutes from hiking, skiing, farm stands, orchards, and shopping ,as well as Tanglewood, the Berkshire Theatre Festival, and Jacob's Pillow. The house is only 2 miles from the Massachusetts border. Lenox , Stockbridge, and Chatham NY are 12 miles away, while Great Barrington is 19 miles away and Hudson 26. Vandenburgh Road sits at the foot of lovely Queechy Lake. Guests will definitely need an automobile to fully enjoy the surrounding area. There is adequate parking for up to three cars. Uber and Lyft are not commonly available in this area. Vandenburgh Road and the driveway up to Sunset Ridge are both gravel. Vandenburgh Road begins at the foot of Queechy Lake.
