The house faces mostly south and gains heat through the large windows for most of the day. At night drawing the drapes keeps the daytime heat in. In the warm months windows on all sides of the house open to let the cool mountain breeze in. The stone ledge walls are the heart of the design; the juxtaposition of layered stone with the wood siding invokes the surrounding Catskills and abundant terrains of forests with stone fences. On sunny days the stone walls absorb heat and become warm. In the summer, even late in the evening - the wall is still warm and pleasant to sit near. In winter the snow melts around the wall. Bedrooms and Sleeping Accommodations: 1. First floor bedroom with a double bed and closet. Note that the main floor has a half bathroom but not a full bathroom. 2.
