The owners are former journalists who have operated an Anchorage B&B since 1993. They are happy to share their knowledge of the many colorful aspects of Alaska. Looking for some freshwater fly-fishing advice? We can provide that, too.

Property information

Susitna Place is in a quiet downtown location with multiple decks that offer panoramic views of Cook Inlet and the Alaska and Aleutian mountain ranges. Denali can be seen on a clear day. Yet, guests are a short, easy walk to everything that the heart of Alaska's largest city has to offer. Nine rooms -- one master suite, one junior suite, three standard rooms with private baths and four rooms that share two baths -- offer a more personal and less expensive alternative to the downtown hotels. The suites have large, private decks. Another deck is available to all. A generous continental-plus breakfast, free Wi-Fi and parking are included.

Neighbourhood information

South Addition is the most upscale and safest neighborhood in downtown Anchorage. Our bluff-top location overlooks the city's historic Bootlegger's Cove area and provides sweeping water and mountain views. Scores of dining, drinking and shopping opportunities can be found a short walk from the B&B. A gateway to the 11-mile Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is about five blocks away, and the Park Strip -- a World War II-era landing strip that was converted into a blocks-long greenbelt -- is little more than one block away. The park has become a popular playground for sporting events and a venue of several weekend festivals.
