This property is located on the corner of Bryson Walk Rd across the great tuckasegee River where the Smoky Mountain Railroad follows along to its main stopping point at the Nantahala Outdoor center. You can hear the training coming as it leaves the depot that is less than a mile away and crosses over its first bridge just a few blocks away. Across the street is the Old Powel Lumber mill that has been closed for years but repurposed. Drive north 1 mile on Bryson Walk to riverside park where you will find a fishing deck and 3 other fishing spots with picnic benches. A few hundred feet further is a boat ramp and dock for Fontana lake. Bathrooms are available. There is a large pavilion for gatherings and a short hiking trail alone the shore line. Drive 1 mile south and you will be in downtown Bryson City! From BC you can head to Deep Creek and hike to 3 water falls within 1.5 miles and a number of trails inside the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The park entrance is around a mile or so from town. The town of Cherokee and Harrahs Casino is about a 25 minute drive through the mountains on highway 19 from town.
