Scotty’s Father, Bob Seward, came to Glen Lake in the 1950s. Looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city of Chicago, he drove to Northern Michigan. Needing a place to stay, he rented a cottage on Glen Lake and fell in love with the simple beauty of the place. Ever since, the Seward family has been coming here. Scotty and Gail bought Birch Shores in the 1980’s. Tradition was born, and we carry it on. The property is currently managed by Agape Vacation Rentals for the Seward family.

Hemlock has a nice lake view from the family room-dining room. There is a fire place, fire pit and a two-kid Hammock. For those Fall Color and Winter Ski expeditions, Hemlock has central gas heat to warm you up. Hemlock is a little larger than Aspen. In June, at a warm 72 degrees, Aspen has 2 deep-water moorings for guest’s ski boats… in contrast – at a frigid 58 degrees, Lake Michigan has no boat moorings available.
