This pre-1910 house is in the centre of the Franschhoek town. The best part of the property is that it has off-road parking and is a park-and-walk location. Visitors enjoy the high ceilings and the house is warm in winter and cool in summer.
Addey and Alta retired to Franschhoek in 2004 and started renovating this house to live in. Once renovated we found we had the space and time to start a small guesthouse with one room. As the renovations continued we now have the same property but have four renovated rooms which we use for guests. None of the rooms are in the house we live in and all have their own access.
We are situated in the Western Cape Winelands, most probably one of the most beautiful areas in South Africa. We do have all the delicious wines, but Franschhoek has also become the Gourmet Capital of South Africa. The Franschhoek Hop-on-Hop-off Wine Tram is an easy 500m walk from us. There is now a lot of outdoor sport available, such as walking, hiking, cycling, horse riding, etc. etc.
