Pimville is one of the oldest townships in Soweto. its historical significance in shaping the history of both Soweto and Johannesburg cannot be ignored, as beautifully articulated and depicted in a number of award winning literary works (such as Cry the Beloved Country by Alan Paton). It is one of the more modern neighbourhoods in the history of Soweto, juxtaposing it to the historical towns of Nancefield and Kliptown at its doorstep. Overall it is centrally and conveniently located to tourist landmarks including the infamous Soweto towers, Orlando west where Vilakazi steer is located and the Soweto Country Clubs with its scenic golf course.
