401 Umdloti Resort is a beautifully appointed single bedroom apartment commanding stunning sea views located in the quaint seaside village of Umdloti, a mere 10 minute drive from King Shaka International Airport. As such Umdloti is the ideal stopover for visitors entering or exiting KwaZulu-Natal - a province that has a rich diversity of beaches, game reserves, mountains and culture. Being only minutes away from the economic hubs of Durban, Umhlanga and Ballito, the location is convenient for business travelers. Parking is in a secure garage below and the elevator stops within meters of the front door. The bedroom, which has sea views, has a King-sized bed and is air-conditioned. It is ensuite with a large, roomy shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and is designed to entertain. The living area is comfortable with fast Wifi and a TV with a full DSTv bouquet.

The Resort has two large outdoor swimming pools as well as a kiddie’s pool with extensive braai / barbecue facilities and seating for guest use. Within the complex there are two world-class fine dining restaurants, Bel Punto and Mundo Vida. Also within the Complex is the Bush Tavern (the friendly local bar and family restaurant) and a bright open beach style coffee shop, Manta Cafe. All the front-line restaurants have direct uninterrupted sea views. Umdloti beaches are user friendly, and the swimming area is patrolled by lifeguards and protected by shark nets. There are a myriad of inshore tidal pools to explore at low tide and the Umdloti Beach Tidal Pool system is a quick walk up the beach. The annual migration of the Humpback whales are sighted close inshore with the first sightings starting around mid-June and then seen daily from about mid-August through to the end of November. Umdloti is located on what is marketed as the Dolphin Coast and rightly so as patrolling dolphins are sighted almost daily close in-shore. Having coffee in the morning at Manta Cafe and watching these iconic animals cruise by is an experience not easily forgotten.
