We started hosting in the 1980’s when we bought a 27 bedroom hotel in Muizenberg which was known in the eighties as the holiday destination of Jewish people. After a few years of managing the hotel we sold it and moved to Camps Bay taking off from the hospitality business because of our children. In the late 90th we returned to the hospitality business, hosting a guesthouse and few apartments in Johannesburg for about 15 years on and off. We recently bought 511 Imdloti Resort renovated it, and here we are offering you our beautiful apartment to enjoy. The Resort has two outdoor swimming pools with barbecue and seating facilities. In the complex are two world-class restaurants, Bel Punto and Mundo Vida, the Bush Tavern - the friendly local bar and restaurant and a bright open coffee shop, Café Java. All of which have great sea views. Spuds and Steers, also in the complex are perfect for takeaways. Prefer to cook? Supermarket is 300m up the road. The beaches are user friendly and the swimming areas have lifeguards and are protected by shark nets. The annual migration of Humpbacked whales starts around mid-June and are seen daily from Aug through to Nov. The annual sardine run in June & July is another greatly anticipated migration phenomena. Although not predictable and not always reaching Umdloti, this “the largest bio-mass migration on the planet” is a must see when it does occur and Umdloti is well located to travel south to experience it. As mentioned, Umdloti is on what is marketed as the Dolphin Coast and rightly so as dolphins are sighted almost daily close in-shore.
