When the opportunity arose, Christiaan, along with his wife Rové, seized the chance to breathe new life into the reserve, taking over its management in December 2021. Christiaan poured his heart and soul into restoring the reserve to its former glory. With Rové by his side, their shared passion for nature and wildlife became the driving force behind their vision for Baardbos. Together, they worked tirelessly, implementing sustainable practices and fostering a deep connection with the land. Their son, Alandré, grew up amidst the beauty of Baardbos, learning the importance of conservation from his parents. From a young age, he developed a profound respect for the wildlife and the delicate balance of the ecosystem. With each passing day, Alandré eagerly absorbed his parents’ wisdom, eager to one day carry on their legacy. As the years went by, Baardbos blossomed under the Greyling family’s stewardship. Visitors from far and wide flocked to the reserve, drawn by its untouched beauty and the warmth of the Greyling’s hospitality. Together, Christiaan, Rové, and Alandré welcomed guests with open arms, sharing their love for the land and its inhabitants.
