Buitehof Gasteplaas is situated 10km outside Lichtenburg on the Lichtenburg-Koster road. The property is only a few hundred metres in from the main road and is accessible to all vehicle types. Buitehof is a working farm. The owners mainly farm with cattle and sheep, but parts of the farm are rented out for other agricultural purposes. The farm boasts a beautiful farmhouse, with all the normal farm buildings and implements you would expect to see on a farm. Visitors can expect to see most of your farm animals, including cattle and sheep as well as poultry such as geese, muscovy ducks and chickens. The family also runs a prestigious horse-riding school, with 14 equipped and 10 open stables on the farm to house their horses. The school operates during the week and guests are welcome to watch the riders take their lessons, or to book an outride in advance. Buitehof Gasteplaas is the perfect spot if you would like to be away from town to experience the authentic farm surroundings but still close enough to drive in quickly for your day-to-day conveniences.

Anette grew up in Lichtenburg. The farm belonged to her family and she inherited it after her late husband's passing. They have four daughters and six granddaughters altogether. Anette remarried with Boet Visser, and they decided to turn some of the rooms of the house as well as other buildings on the farm into guest rooms. Anette likes meeting people and acting as hostess. She has a keen sense of style, which is visible in her house and guest rooms. She also loves cooking for family and friends and can prepare a mean breakfast (on request). She is friendly and receives guests with a warm and open platteland heart.
