Fisaasbos is uniquely situated in the cul de sac of the Tulbagh valley, perched on a hilltop on the slopes of the Groot Winterhoek mountains with one eye on the valley below. The farmhouse was built in 1941, its thatched "multi-rondawel architectural style quite unusual in these parts. The house retains most of its original features (doors, windows, light fittings and switches, with the mid-century kitchen stealing the show.
But, it is the giant oak, pecan, plane and gum trees, the bird song, the fynbos and farm trails, and the 270 degree mountain views (close enough to touch, it seems) that will leave you with that lingering Fisaasbos-feeling.
Guests are in thé best hands with super host Riëtte, an expert communicator and a service-driven ambassador for Fisaasbos. Riëtte is a fixer and facilitator of note and always on the other side of phone for assistance or suggestions.
Sanna is our housekeeping executive with a strong arm for cleaning, a sharp eye for detail and plenty of creative flair. Flower arrangements are often from her own garden; and if you're visiting in season, she knows which orchards are in harvest.
