Guinea Fowl House B& is situated 100 steps from beautiful Longbeach with stunning surf, long peaceful walk, swimming and beautiful sunsets. We border a greenbelt and conservation area with a large variety of birds and the breeding grounds of the endangered Leopard Toad. No passing traffic, just the sound of birdsong, waves, happy joggers, walkers and cyclists enjoying the natural surrounding inthis special little fishing village. Hope you will find the time to visit soon.
I have lived in Kommetjie most of my life and had the good fortune to have grown up at various lighthouses in SA as my father was a lighthouse keeper. So open spaces and peace are priority. I am a potter(my passion) with a studio on the property, love mountain and beach hikes and horse riding along our beautiful beaches. After owning the B&B for over 13 years, I have been so fortunate to meet wonderful people from near and far and formed close friendships. Every day has been a real pleasure with happy guests coming and going and coming back as friends.
There is way more to Kommetjie than waves and surfing. It is less than an hour to Cape Town with amazing views on route. Our relaxed seaside ambience spills over into the laid-back coffee shops and pubs, great restaurants where sun-bleached hair, baggies and bare feet are a way of life rather than a fashion statement. Imhoff's Gift Farm offers a wide variety of activities, camel rides, long beach horse rides, animal touch farm and snake parks, ideal for adults and children. Chocolate making, cheese making and soaps making are a few of the many activities offered in the area. The town encircles a natural rocky bay resembling a small basin, or "kommetjie" in Afrikaans, which explains the name. Good crayfish (in season) diving spots exist in the kelp beds, but chances are the locals will keep quiet about these.....come visit!!!
