The fully furnished self-catering house lies metres from the rocky shoreline with stunning sea views from most rooms. in a secure complex with many communal amenities.
The upstairs bedroom has a queen size bed with a view across the bay. The upstairs bathroom has a bath with a shower and can be used either en-suite or shared. The sea-facing downstairs bedroom has 2 single beds. The third bedroom, with a single bed and a bunk bed, is ideal for children. The downstairs bathroom has a walk-in shower. All bedrooms have built-in cupboards.
The rest of downstairs comprises an open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen. The lounge offers a 3-seater couch, 2 armchairs, a TV with DSTV if required, DVD player and HDMI cable to connect your laptop. and a gas fireplace.
High Speed (60Mb/s) WiFi with Internet access is provided with a 6Mb/s wireless-based backup WiFi which can be used to stream Netflix if you bring your own streaming devuse.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer, gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and a variety of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, and utensils. The dining room has a 6-seater table. The patio has an outdoor table and braai (barbecue).
Fresh linen is provided and bath towels are available on request at a nominal charge.
Hermanus is a mere 90 minute drive from Cape Town International Airport.
The Beach Club has 24-hour security with camera surveillance, and offers swimming pools, squash and tennis courts, putt-putt, a gym, pool tables, a pub, communal braai (barbecue) areas, an entertainment room, laundry and a small shop for essentials. It is 2 km from the New Harbour and a private hospital. The town centre, with a multitude of restaurants, shops, a village market and tourist attractions is 3.5 km away. Unfortunately, the Beach Club has a strict no-pet policy for visitors.
Nearby activities and attractions include canoeing, kayaking, shark dives. swimming, fishing,, golf, cliff- and boat-based whale-watching and tours of an abalone farm or the Space Centre. Guests can visit the many wine estates in the area or explore the Fernkloof Nature Reserve where there are hiking and cycling trails. A well-maintained 12km cliff path stretches from the New Harbour through the village centre to Grotto Beach on the far side of Hermanus. The Hermanus Country Market, open on Saturday mornings, is well worth a visit for its foods, drinks and artisanal craftsmanship.
