My name is Bertus, and I am your proud host at Langebaan Stay Guest House.
I have been involved in all spheres of the hospitality industry for the past 30 years. From managing the Witsand Nature Reserve in the Kalahari Desert, to running and managing the Allesverloren Wedding & Function venue in Riebeek West, my passion in life is to cook and create, and for people to enjoy the food and the ambience paired with good music and great wines. I was also the chef at the Allesverloren venue where I prepared all the food for functions, weddings and conferences.
Our guest house offers breakfast on request only and we do offer dinners on prior arrangement- please feel free to contact us to make a booking for your dinner in our dining area on the patio overlooking the lagoon. We offer a set menu, which varies from day to day. Should you have any special requests or allergens please let us know at least two days in advance.
I have a huge love for travel and some of the places I’ve visited in the past years include Germany, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands, England, Canada, Mexico, France, Italy, USA, Monaco, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Botswana (Okavango Delta).
I have met some amazing and interesting people on my travels, such as Constance Stuart Larrabee, who lived in Chestertown on the Chester River near to the Chesapeake Bay. Constance was a world-renowned photographer with numerous exhibitions all over the world, in addition this- she was South Africa's first woman war correspondent photographer appointed by the director of South African Military Intelligence, to serve in Egypt, Italy, France and England.
I am a people person, with a love for entertaining and it brings me great pleasure to interact with people and offer my guests the most relaxing, comfortable and convenient stay possible.
Should you require any additional info or services, please ask us before your arrival, so that we can assist you in the best possible way.
Safe Travels!!!
