Kosi Bay boasts one of the most beautiful and untouched lake systems in the country, teeming with marine life, animals, and birds. Consisting of four lakes – Amanzimnyama, Nhlange, Mpungwini and Makhawulani – these are connect as they meander into the Indian Ocean. There is loads to do in and around the area if you into the outdoors and exploring the natural beauty of the area. Try: * Snorkelling in the Kosi Bay Estuary where the lakes meet the sea. * A Turtle tracking excursions run by the Parks Board in November through to February / March. This is when leather back turtles return to the area to lay their eggs. * A walk for the forests where you can see the great Raffia palms and might be lucky to glimpse the Palm Nut Vulture. * Visiting the fish kraals to see how fishing has been conducted over generations. * Crossing the border into Mozambique [12kms away] for a different cultural experience
