I have lived in Prince Albert since November 2017 after I bought Mai’s Guest in October 2017. I’ve known the property since 2000 and stayed here many times as a guest and spent a lot of time here. I started a two-year renovation to the existing house and rooms and then also added two luxury cottages in the back garden. A new garden and pool pavilion was created and designed for guests to relax. The garden is a tranquil haven with many pleasant surprises. After the renovations, I decided on a new name, as there was a totally different look and ambience. My mission is to make guests feel welcome and to have home comforts. We are so looking forward to welcoming you and to share a unique Karoo experience with you.

81 on Church Guest House is an accommodation establishment offering a choice of six comfortable, air-conditioned, spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom-en-suite (shower) and DSTV. A full breakfast can be provided on request. Wi-Fi is available throughout the guesthouse. Restaurants are within walking distance and Johan can make a dinner booking for you. Safe off-street parking. Regret we cannot accommodate children under the age of six years.

Prince Albert is a quiet country town with art galleries, wine estates, farm visits, interesting shops and a dairy. Scenic country drives across the Swartberg Pass and through Meiringspoort. Watch a Karoo sunset out in the country - just a few minutes drive away. Guests can go for walks, cycle, go horse riding, cookery courses and even visit the local blacksmith for a demo or workshop.
