Meadow Lane is a 13-hectare smallholding that we have lovingly owned since June 2013. Our family lives on the property, allowing us to add a personal touch to every guest’s experience. A dedicated team of staff carefully maintains the extensive grounds, ensuring that guests can relax and enjoy the beauty of our gardens.

Meadow Lane Country Cottages offers tranquility in a park-like setting, with five elegant self-catering cottages that combine modern comfort with timeless country charm. Enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi in each cottage whilst still having the chance to enjoy the wonders of the outdoors in a peaceful haven. The gem of Meadow Lane is our charming dam, home to a variety of birdlife. Guests are welcome to enjoy catch-and-release fishing in the bass dam. For more serious anglers, a permit can be purchased at the local fishing shop, which will place you on a suitable dam for a full day of fishing. We also offer two kids’ kayaks for use on the dam, free of charge, along with a short zipline and play area. Our reception is open during office hours, and we operate on an honesty system, allowing guests to help themselves to fishing rods, DVDs for hire, firewood, charcoal, games and more. For aviation enthusiasts, Meadow Lane features its own airstrip, perfect for a weekend fly-away for light sport aircraft, with hangar hire available.

Meadow Lane is just 35 km from Sani Pass and perfectly positioned for exploring the beauty of the Southern Drakensberg. Underberg offers a variety of restaurants — with the nearest conveniently located right next door! Horse riding is available only 2 km from Meadow Lane. Guests can also enjoy scenic walks on the many marked trails that can be picked up at the end of the driveway. There are two coffee shops along the trails ideally situated along the river. Hop into the river to cool off. For those seeking hiking adventure, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, situated 20 km away is the gateway to many unforgettable Southern Drakensberg hikes and caves. Meadow Lane just a 10-minute drive from the center of Underberg, where guests can conveniently stock up on groceries at the local Superspar.
