The Olive and Vine Farm Cottage is about 1km from town, so it is an easy and lovely walk. Close to town but not in town. You will have the peace and tranquility of farm life, except for the birds, the dogs, the cows and the donkeys, with a bark/mooh and bray, here and there. The cottage is situated between the olives and vines, where the name comes from. It is a life style farm, where we farm with olives and grapes. The guests have their own garden where they can enjoy a morning breakfast outside or in the evening a glass (or a bottle) of wine. The cottage provides all you may need, regarding cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. Milk, coffee, tea, sugar, rusks, and bottled water are provide, and the water in the tap is drinkable. Guests that come to stay at Olive and Vine, will always want to come back and then for a longer stay.
I love the farm life and I am very serious about my guests to have a great time while they are here. I try to make use of all the fruit the farm produces. As we also have quite a few fruit trees that were planted for the household. I love making olive tapenade or chillie/garlick olives. I see myself as a very energetic person and not afraid of hard work. My husband and I enjoy hikes and outdoor life and we enjoy chatting with our guests, but respect their privacy.
The farm's name is La Terra de Luc and there is another two farms surrounding it. The guests will have lovely views onto the mountains and the neighbourhood, is really peaceful. As I mentioned, it is nice and safe to walk to town. There is a tuc-tuc service if you don't want to walk back and then there is the big attraction of the Wine Tram that takes the guests to all the wine farms to taste wine and have lovely food to eat, which makes Franschhoek so popular. Gholf courses are close by, Horse riding, bicycles to hire, hiking trails and then the lovely shops. Worth a few nights to experience it all.
