In 1942 my wifes grandfather bought this piece of land and used it as a farm and nursery. He built 3 workers houses on the property which were neglected after his death. During the first national lockdown in 2020 my parents moved to Montagu and started renovating these houses. Within a year they were able to transform these 3 workers houses into 6 beautiful self catering apartments each with its own braai area, kitchen and bathroom. The property is completely off the grid and we make use of our own water from the natural springs on the property, and our electricity is 100% solar generated. We also make use of our own sewage system. The vast majority of the work that has gone into this project was done by my mother and father and this add a unique handmade element to everything.
