We are situated in Wilderness, the hub of the Western Cape Garden Route at a RAMSAR proclaimed water bird sanctuary. Our guests are ecologically aware, fine dining connoisseurs who love good food, the beach, the mountains and the forests. A special place where guests become friends! Serendipity is the winner of the 2016 WORLD LUXURY REATAURANTS AWARD for South African inspired fine dining.
My name is Elsabé. My life passion is to prepare and present excellence. I love sharing ideas with my guests. I have now been owner/ manager of Serendipity since 2004. I have for many years attended to the social network of the Honorary Consulate General of Costa Rica. I also attended for more than 25 years to the social life of the Trustee for the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) head office at Fort Lauderdale USA.
Wilderness is a most famous hub for visiting the Western Cape Garden Route. The Garden Route consists of the Afromontane Forest and fynbos. The Fynbos Biome is considered by many to be synonymous with the Cape. Southern Afrotemperate Forest (the Southern Cape Forests) is a kind of tall, shady, multi-layered indigenous South African forest. This is the main forest-type in the south-western part of South Africa. In this range the massive Wilderness-Knysna-Tsitsikamma forest complex is surrounded by fynbos vegetation.The area is famous as a dining environment and especially golfing, birding, whale watching, hang gliding, exploring the mountain passes and walking the many trails.
