Homestead Lake Cottage is unique in the sense that it is the first accommodation establishment in the Homestead Lake area in Farrarmere. The tranquillity and surrounding nature creates a peaceful ambiance. Guests feel at home immediately on entering the establishment with the warm greetings of the hostess Astrid and staff. The cosy sunlit guest rooms have easy access and rolls into the garden area as one. A variety of birdlife frequent the lake and surrounding areas and the call of the Ibis (Hadeda) is synonymous with the area. Early morning joggers are met with a friendly greeting while looking over the lake and seeing the paddlers and fisherman engaging with nature.
Astrid as owner is a people person that enjoys new and established guests arriving at the establishment. Guests will be welcomed by their first names with a "Hello Jane, welcome and nice to see you". Astrid as well as the staff enjoy the guest interaction on a professional level and will make the guests feel at home. Home away from Home. Astrid is keen on her hobby creating amazing Stained Glass items. She also collects antiquities of all kinds ranging from furniture, antique paraffin stoves through to sculptures.
Our neighbourhood is situated on the banks of the Homestead Lake with a tranquil atmosphere where the early morning and late afternoon sunrise and sunset can be enjoyed. A variety of birdlife frequent the lake and surrounding areas and the call of the Ibis (Hadeda) is synonymous with the area. Early morning joggers are met with a friendly greeting while looking over the lake and seeing the paddlers and fisherman engaging with nature. This safe and tranquil area is frequented by weekend picnickers, dog walkers and cyclists. The more daring and brave will have a swim in the lake during the hot summer days. The lake is one of three in Benoni, with this being the largest and the first in sequence. Various malls with popular shops, cinemas and eating places are a short distance from the lake and neighbourhood with some within walking distance. This is the place to be.
