Our delightful Karoo cottage is centrally situated and was an original Nagmal huisie. The cottage has its own private entrance and is within walking distance to shops, the Karoo Art Hotel, eateries, and bars. Our little cheese factory (ALL.ABOUT.SHEEP) is located behind the cottage.
The cottage boasts a lovely open-plan lounge and a delightful bedroom with a queen size bed and plenty of wardrobe space. The kitchenette is workable with a microwave, toaster, fridge, kettle, Nespresso machine, cutlery and crockery and 4 seater breakfast nook.
No hot plate or oven is available. A Weber braai can be requested prior to arrival.
Both the interior and exterior have beautiful murals painted by local artist Quinton Faro.
There are fans for the glorious summer and oil heaters and portable heaters for the cozy winters.
The queen size bed is fitted with a deluxe sheep quilted hot blanket and divine bed linen from the T-shirt Bed Co.
The bathroom has a beautiful walk-in shower and hand-woven towels from our very own Barrydale Hand Weavers.
Our small boutique sheep milk dairy factory (ALL.ABOUT.SHEEP) is linked to the back of the cottage. We are a family run business so noise is very minimal. You will see us around during the week. Please don't be shy and do come say hello.
A generator will run during the day from 8:00 if loadshedding is scheduled. The noise is unfortunate but not unbearable. We are hoping to have the cottage and factory running off inverter systems in the next few months.
I am available to offer help throughout your stay and will keep in touch through WhatsApp.
A quiet little neighborhood with very little passing traffic.
Beautiful morning walks are a definite must.
Unfortunately there is no such thing as Uber in Barrydale. Everything is within walking distance and there is ample parking should you wish to drive. Enjoy the little town as you meander down to breakfast, lunch or dinner.
