WHALE ROCK apartment is named after the imposing granite boulder lying just two hundred and fifty metres away from you in the ocean below. Its correct name is Spanish Rock, but in view of its appearance it is often referred to as Whale Rock. With easy ground floor access, the apartment has a stunning patio which is completely protected from the prevailing South-Easter winds. Barbeques are enjoyed on the patio, which leads directly to the swimming pool, with views across False Bay from the wooden deck. Easy chairs on the patio encourage you to take a deep breath, and to relax! The comfortable lounge has views over the pool deck towards Boulders Beach, with Fish Hoek and Kalk Bay in the distance. An open-plan kitchen and dining area has the same views as the lounge. Enjoy your views over the ocean towards the imposing Hottentots Holland mountains across False Bay from the large main bedroom. The second bedroom has ocean views, as well as views towards the mountains behind the property. Directly in front of the apartment is a large common area, which is collectively cared for by the neighbors. Enjoy the indigenous plants and birdlife in this lovely garden.

I enjoy taking walks on our beautiful beaches, but especially enjoy walking over the enormous granite boulders strewn across this amazing landscape. My rescue dog - Oreo - is never far behind. My adult son and I share a recreational fishing boat, and we enjoy getting on the ocean to catch Yellowtail or Tuna.

The coastline below Whale Rock Cottage is interspersed with beautiful beaches and granite boulders. Local beaches include the world famous Boulders Beach, Windmill Beach, Water's Edge, Frank's Beach and Fisherman's Beach. This short strip of coastal "heaven" is popular with recreational scuba divers, kayakers, bathers, penguins and nature lovers alike.
