Wild Rescue NPC is on a privately owned nature reserve, and is busy establishing a wildlife rehabilitation facility and sanctuary. The 164 ha nature reserve is home to a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna which visitors can experience on the 5 hiking trails. There is no electricity available at these cottages. The cottages offer a unique back to nature atmosphere, and use candles and oil lamps for lighting, with gas for heating of water and cooking on hob. There is an indoor fireplace and outdoor braai. In summer guests can swim in a natural dam, fed by spring water.
Gill and her team are very welcoming and enjoy sharing their passion for conserving the indigenous plants and wildlife of Wild Rescue with interested guests.
Still Bay a popular holiday town and is 30 minutes away. It has blue flag status beaches. The Goukou River borders on Wild Rescue, and runs out in a beautiful estuary at Still Bay.
