It is likely you’ll need to have a car as Brenton is accessed off the N2 motorway about 6kms up and over a hill. The beach is certainly walking distance however it is hilly so you may choose to go by car for your return. There is parking at the beach. Other local beaches including Buffalo Bay are close by and worth travelling to during your stay. Buffalo Bay can also be reached by foot along the beach, a 4-5 km walk.

Brenton-on-Sea is a wonderful coastal town close to Knysna. Its well known for its amazing sunsets, peaceful walks along the beach that extends to Buffels Bay, about 4 to 5 kms away depending on the tide. There is a hotel with restaurant, a small shop and a delicatessen for a morning coffee whilst looking over the bay. The activities on offer in the surrounding area are second to none. From mountain bike riding, paragliding, horseback riding, quadbiking, hiking to amazing cuisine from a selection of quality restaurants.
