This was such a cool hotel and lots of details were meticulously chosen for the vibe. The staff was helpful and friendly. They downplayed their English abilities when asked, but their English was excellent. There is a laundry on site which can be helpful for packing light. The room was spacious, maybe around a standard US room size, with a spacious shower. There is a little outdoor cafe right outside and this hotel is just steps away from many historic streets. This hotel was truly unique.

This was the first "real" hotel my cousin and I stayed at while in Japan (others being Hostels and Capsule Hotels), so this felt like we were staying at a palace. It was great to have a shower and washer/dryer in our room. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel staff was also very friendly and accommodating; they even helped me locate a water bottle that I thought I had lost and held it for me to pick up later. The area was also very nice; we were able to walk to most of the places we wanted to visit while in Kyoto.

The room was like a small apartment where you felt at home. There was nothing to complain about!
