Hôtel & Spa Le Bouclier D'or is located in the historic La Petite France district in a 16th Century building, a 5-minute walk from Strasbourg Cathedral. This perfect little haven in the Petite France area of Strasbourg was an ideal base to explore this beautiful historic city. This renovated old building has everything - character, history, vintage furniture and modern facilities. We visited Strasbourg during the Christmas Market and while it was only a few minutes walk to the major market squares and the local restaurants, the immediate vicinity was pretty quiet - almost no vehicle traffic and just a few pedestrians, who mostly seemed to be taking their kids to the school opposite. We only saw one staff member (I’m sure there must be others) but he was very welcoming and informative, giving us good tips on where to go. We loved our room, which was very nicely furnished, but also had plenty of power points, a device charger on the desk and the most fantastic shower.

The staff was excellent, the room was modern but comfortable and relaxing, the spa soothing, and the cleanliness -top notch. The staff went above and beyond and exceeded expectations, front desk, bar, and breakfast staff. Everyone was so friendly and hospitable. Our stay in Colmar was amazing, but this hotel in particular made it even more enjoyable. I will recommend L’Esquisse to anyone visiting the region.

Beautifully renovated guesthouse ideally situated in a peaceful town — a 5-10 minute walk to several excellent restaurants; a 20-minute walk to the train station, with direct service to Colmar and Strasbourg; and a 10- to 30-minute drive to multiple Alsatian wine villages. The guest room is spacious and immaculate, with quality bedding, a walk-in shower and comfortable sitting area — and all done with impeccable taste. The breakfasts are generous and delicious, with baguette, croissants, cheese, charcuterie, fresh fruit, yogurt and eggs made to order. The hosts are kind, friendly, helpful and accessible, yet always discreet, and their optional table d’hote featuring Thai dishes is superb. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

What a wonderful place to stay. Fabrizia and Benoît were really nice and kind to us and the house was just perfect, very confortable and very well decorated, it had everything we needed. WiFi is great too. Parking inside was a plus. The kitchen is fully equiped if you need to cook, supermarkets are very close, very nice recommendations of restaurants by the hosts. We totally recommend this place and we are definitely coming back. Thank you so much for everything👏🏻🤗
