Opened in April 2017, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, an open-air bath or ceramic open-air hot springs bath made with Shigaraki pottery. This has to be one of the greatest experiences I've ever had in a resort or hotel. The location is absolutely beautiful, and the rooms are super spacious and clean. The tubs on the balcony are lovely, the beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable. The breakfast buffet is fantastic and super impressive, catering to both Japanese and Western cuisine with the most incredible wide selection I've seen. Dinner was absolutely fantastic, with both the courses and the seafood buffet being exceptional. Among all the hotels I've stayed at, this place has the friendliest staff, catering to your every need. They offer a free shuttle bus to Gora Station as well as free ice cream from the vending machines. They have two onsen: one with an infinity pool and a fantastic view, and a garden one with a beautiful waterfall. I cannot recommend this place enough; we had the most fantastic stay ever.

A lovely and large traditional yet modernised family home, and in a great location for exploring the delights of Lake Ashi... with peerless Mount Fuji views just a few metres away!! The property could easily accommodate a family or small group and is great value, therefore. Don't hesitate with this one, as you won't be disappointed! The only downside is that the local eateries when we visited (early April) close relatively early, though you can stock the fridge etc and you have all the implements you need to cook and eat. Oh yes, I nearly forgot the natural and private hot spring bath - a great bonus!!! A very comfortable and relaxing stay in a quiet and small residential area with a helpful and thoughtful owner.

Fabulous location. Beautiful views of the countryside. Very convenient location. Staff were so friendly and accommodating! The amenities and room setup was fantastic and beautiful and very new looking. And the onsen? So relaxing and invigorating, clean and supplied with everything and anything one would need for cleansing and healing. The meals both at breakfast and at dinner were spectacular!

The accommodation is idyllically situated on the outskirts of the village surrounded by forest. There are good restaurants and a convenience store in a walking distance. The journey from Hakone-Yumoto by bus is quite long but the on-ride views are very rewarding. The house is just the cutest little place. The owner is always helpful, very kind and takes care of everything. Our traditional style room was very large by Japanese standards and the entire accommodation was clean and tidy. The lovingly prepared breakfast was excellent and the absolute highlight is the private Onsen you can book on a hourly basis. If we ever come back to Hakone this will be our go-to place. Thank you for this awesome experience!!

Ideally located in Yokohama, The Kahala Hotel & Resort Yokohama, open from September 2020, offers lavishly-decorated air-conditioned rooms, a restaurant, free WiFi and a bar. I loved it, staff working there was just super profesional, nice and treating guests with so much care

Really comfortable and ideal for resting before going to Haneda airport. The room was really nice and staff were really attentive and kind. We stayed for one night but we enjoyed it a lot.

WeBase Kamakura is a resort hotel and restaurant in the ancient capital of Kamakura, one minute from the Shonan sea and one hour from the city. What an amazing place! Location: 2-minute walk to the beach or the nearest small train station. Rooms: Spacious for Japanese standards, very comfy beds, super clean, very warm and beautiful. Breakfast: TOP NOTCH, super tasty, creative, made and presented with love and passion. Communal bath: TOP NOTCH, super clean, very spacious, great water temperature, nice Sauna. Staff: Super friendly and welcoming.

Set in Hakone’s natural beauty, Gora Kadan is located a 5-minute walk from Gora Station on the Hakone Tozan Line. Guests can leisurely soak in the hot spring bath, relax with a massage treatment. The dinner is so delicious! We finished every dishes!

Surrounded by nature in Hakone, the Senkyoro Ryokan boasts a terrace and an open-air hot spring overlooking the mountains. Free WiFi is available in the lobby area. The traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner were both exceptional. The staff were so warm and helpful! The rooms are so charming and it was fun to sleep on tatami mats.
