We had a wonderful stay at The Houghton Hotel during our trip to South Africa. The hotel is incredibly modern and stylish, with very spacious rooms. The bed was exceptionally comfortable—exactly what we needed after a long flight. One of the highlights was the breakfast, very tasty and lots of options. The staff were warm and welcoming throughout our stay, and we were especially grateful that they accommodated a very early check-in so we could rest right away. Although we didn’t get a chance to use the hotel’s amenities, we did take a look around and everything—from the pool area to the wellness facilities—looked top-notch and beautifully maintained. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing, upscale base in Johannesburg.

The nature around the house is incredible. It's a little paradise. The house is beautifully furnished inside. The owners are exquisite and breakfast was delicious. The pictures on booking.com don't do it justice. In reality the house and the location are much better.

A truly lovely boutique hotel a short hop from Oliver Tambo Airport, to and from which the hotel offers free transfers. I was looking for a nature experience in nice surroundings close to the airport and was not disappointed. The hotel is just gorgeous - beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished to a high standard. The fountain by the swimming pool in the inner courtyard gives a haven-like feel. Super-comfortable king size bed, delicious dinner and breakfast, a wonderful view of the nature reserve lake, delightful staff. One of the nicest places I’ve stayed over the years. I will be back and will make sure to stay longer next time.

Stayed in the Presidential Suite which was perfect. Large comfy bed, kitchen, big shower, private spa pool on the balcony over looking the valley. There seriously is nothing more you could wish for in a place to stay. Staff and owners were welcoming and friendly. In terms of overcoming water and electricity shortages there is nothing they haven't done to manage. Water tanks and battery power supplies mean everything operates in business as usual.

The staff was very helpful, I got lost but their assistance made so much of a difference . They really made my birthday extra special so I really appreciate their efforts . The kitchen facilities had everything we needed & the chalet was very clean . A big 10/10 from me. The jacuzzi & braai area enabled us to bond nicely cos there is enough privacy for each chalet

An absolute Gem ! - cannot speak highly enough of this beautiful guest house/spa/ hotel. I fly into Johannesburg about 4 times a year and have stayed at most of the “airport hotels” wait up to 45 min for the bus transfer- get in a long queue to checkin.. lack of any interest by staff, ordinary service, food etc.. booked at the Witwater for the first time. Jerry a terrific young man from the guest house met me at the gate - name on a big board. E class Mercedes to the hotel - I check in and in the room 15 min after exiting customs . Room twice as big. Bathroom 3 times bigger than a hotel. Super nice. Great restaurant, amazing grounds, quiet ( some aircraft noise but not bad and definitely not a problem), Welcoming manager and staff. Excellent property.
