An exceptionally cozy place in downtown Bejing. Hidden at the end of a small street / hutong, it is quiet, tranquil and welcoming. The rooms are arranged around a central couryard. Everything is nice and tidy, this really feels like a homestay rather than an impersonal hotel. The manager speaks the best English I got to hear in China in my few weeks there, knows everything about Beijing and can arrange anything you'd need. The location perfect, within walking distance from the main Beijing tourist attractions. There are two things to take note of: - The location on Google Maps is incorrect. Booking.com and openstreemaps have the correct location. - The wooden walls open to the courtyard and there is not much noise protection between the public space and your room. I would not go there with a toddler, and you should also stay quiet at late hours in the courtyard itself.

The rooms are nice and I booked one with a generous rooftop balcony, were I enjoyed my morning tea. The street in which the hotel is located is only accessible to pedestrians and you have to navigate your luggage about 150m trough the crowds, but it is well worth it, the location is nice and it was surprisingly quiet inside the room. Not everyone working there is fluent in English but everyone very helpful. The English speaking staff even helped me buy a new SIM card, which was a bit complicated.
