It gets very busy so would recommend going I the morning to avoid jostling with others trying to take photos. The actual checkpoint is just a wooden booth so people might find it smaller than anticipated. Also be careful of a small group playing a street game trying to entice tourist to try and win 50euro. It’s about a half an hour walk from the main train station, but there are good links with the bus very close to the hostel and the S Bahn. It really is easy to get around from there. We had a double room with shared bathroom. The toilet and shower were not far away. Great bar atmosphere downstairs. Reasonable prices at the bar. Staff very helpful. The hotel is close to public transport stations as Potsdamer Platz or Friedrichstrasse. The staff was very friendly, they were able to store the luggage after check-out and offered to post some postcards, as well. We aren't into shopping but love food and the sites so for us this was a great place. The Japanese restaurant attached to the hotel is absolutely incredible, If you go there you will need cash.
