I really didn't expect ny of this, and this place is something I would highly recommend. For the money you pay, and the facilities you get is just crazy.

Walk around Yubatake.
Walk around Yubatake. The lower portion of it there is a waterfall. Make sure to walk it at night if you are not to tired. We were tired, but we walked around it at night and we are glad we did. The light reflecting off of it makes it so beautiful!

The people of Kusatsu are very friendly and helpful.
Recommend to bring a face mask/cover in case the smell from the water is too strong when visiting the Yubatake.
Good for 2D1N trip.

Nice, comfy and quite big rooms. Relaxing spring-fed bath on the bottom floor, same as the Yubatake according to certification. It's a small hotel which meant it was quiet, the bath was usually free and the staff was personal.
The location is great, just outside the main square but extremely central (couple of hundred meters). There is a shop on the bottom floor and a nice restaurant next door, sharing staff with the hotel.

Good location, great staff, good buffet options. Good onsen selection. 5 min walk to Yubatake area. There are lots of food options in the area.
Staff were very communicative, giving us fair warning on hotel renovations.

For a 6-bed dorm, this is a very nice hostel and a great value. The walking distance to Yubatake is only around 6 mins. There is a great kitchen to do cooking and there is a supermarket across the street.

Amazing stay. We enjoy our stay very much. Great hospitality, polite and helpful staffs, amazing view from our room and outside, good location. The has shuttle bus for guests who are going to Yubatake or the central.
We had a huge room. Japanese combine with western.

Loved this little hotel! A nice affordable option in Kusatsu. It’s a bit of a walk (15 minutes) outside of the town center, so it’s nice and quiet and away from the strong sulphur smell from the Yubatake. There is a shuttle to town if needed, but the walk is nice and safe. Onsen facility in the hotel was clean, with an indoor and outdoor bath. Staff were very friendly and communicated well even though they don’t speak English and my Japanese is not very strong. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Extremely traditional Japanese apartment located just right outside Yubatake. Immersive experience, extremely lovely owner, amenities such as a washer, heating, bath, kitchen etc., with a conbini and supermarket (relatively) close by, all easily accessible by walking or car (parking is sometimes a rarity however).

Their onsen polls were amongst the best I've experienced in Japan. Atmosphere of the hotel was cordial and relaxed. Shutter bus services to Kasutsu station and/or Yubatake were frequent and efficient.
