The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and had a tea table and a couch. It even had an area/room for the luggages/wardrobe. the toilet was big- a vanity area, separate toilet, shower and a bathtub tub.We booked a 3 single beds corner room which was very comfortable. Absolutely spacious and well thought of design. The breakfast was a good variety of western and Asian cuisine, and had fresh salad, and they also served food that’s locally grown/farmed. Hotel was also environmentally conscious providing refillable stainless water bottles and a water filling station on each floor. The bath products provided were also organic and gentle on the skin and hair. The location was perfect! It is right next to Takashimaya and approx 70 meters away from the main crossing. It’s on the quieter side of the busy area. There is a small grocery on the ground floor selling local and home grown food, and many organic fruits and veggies. The hotel also has a few restaurants. We were only able to try Roku- a ramen place and we really liked it. The patisserie in the hotel was always full- many locals also go there for dessert/tea time. Across the hotel is a famous gyoza place called Chao Chao which always had a long queue. This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in Japan! I’ve been to Japan many times and I highly recommend this if you’re going to Kyoto and want to be centrally located. I will stay in this hotel again when I go back to Kyoto. The staff are very helpful, warm and friendly. They helped me in making a reservation for the airport bus from Kyoto to Kansai airport in Osaka. They also booked a van taxi for us since there were 3 of us with luggages.

    All our hotel stays in Japan were good, but we would probably rate this as the best. The location is very good, not far from Nishiki Market, and a short walk from the Imperial Palace. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Quite spacious room. Staff were very helpful, dealing straight away with a couple of issues and queries. The hotel offers a free bus to a local shrine as well as the Bamboo Forest, which was particularly welcome. Recommended.

    Great location - close to bus and train stations. Within easy walking distance to Nishiki Market and a few other places. Nightly drinks was great. Laundry and onsen were good. Helpful staff with everything including when I wanted to forward my luggage to my next hotel

    We were genuinely impressed by Hiz Hotel. The location is perfect – just 2 minutes from a metro station, and around 10 minutes on foot to the city center and Nishiki Market. The neighborhood is lovely, with a small canal and a calm, local atmosphere. Our room was quite spacious, and included a small kitchen, microwave, and even a washing machine, which was super convenient. The shower had great water pressure, and for the price we paid, we honestly still can’t believe the value – truly unbeatable.

    Location was excellent. 20min walk to Kyoto station, Gion district, Nishiki Market. 24hr Fresco directly opposite the hotel so could stock up on breakfast items. Room was excellent size for family of 5. Washing and drying facilities which is great for families. We used the luggage sending service (Kyoto to Osaka) and it was super easy and cost effective to not have to take our big bags with us for a 1-night stay in Kinosakionsen. Highly recommend!!

    Everything was exceptional! The staff is friendly, and was glad to assist with anything. Rooms are not too big but comfy enough and not smaller than other similar hotels in Japan. The location is very central and convenient, close to the Nishiki market and right on Kawaramachi street, but it didn't get any noise from the street and felt very safe. Would definitely stay again if I will ever be lucky enough to come back to Kyoto.

    Very easy to find and use. We never saw any staff yet everything was crystal clear and easy from the time we arrived. A masterclass of unmanned hotel service. The room was pretty spacious considering other Japanese apartments. There was a laundry machine (in Japanese but with a bit of help from chatgpt very straightforward to use) which did help a lot since we stayed there round the middle of or Japan trip. Generally a good experience and the hotel was in a pretty good place relatively close to nishiki market.

    This is a beautiful boutique hotel that is well kept. It has minimalist Japanese design. Located within walking distance to Nishiki market, a variety of trendy, local designer shops and many good eateries. Staff were friendly and helpful. They have 24h coin laundry too. lI will definitely rebook this hotel when I am back in Kyoto.
