Has everything you could possibly ask for. Rooms are very comfortable, there are plenty of toilets, bathroom facilities, so no waiting time. The showers come with small onsen, every one of which is uniquely pretty. There are large common areas, which are very social. We even got invited to join the owners steam pot party one evening.

Manabu, the host was absolutely brilliant! A kind and welcoming guy he made us all feel very welcome and looked after. The property itself has a really feeling of a traditional Japanese house but with all the comforts- air conditioning, fridge, washing machine etc. Manabu’s restaurant just a minute away is delicious and the rice balls for breakfast he made each day for us was so generous . Can’t recommend this place enough .

The guest house is surrounded by mountains and fields with plum trees blooming. The scenery is spectacular. The little house was cozy with all the things we needed. The owner was friendly and helpful. We had a chat in the breakfast time. The breakfast was delicious with coffee, miso soup, bagel and yogurt. It gave us enough energy for the hiking that we were going to do later. My family and I would like to visit Chikatsuyu and stay at the guesthouse again.

Definitely visit the public onsen here, it is modern and clean. However, I think it would b e better to stay in one of the Ryokan here as they have even nicer Onsen with access to the outside. The private onsen at the Yunomine public onsen does not have access to the outside, I dont know about the others. A wander around the little streets of Yunomine is charming, as is the short hike on the Kumano Kodo iup to a small hill top shrine.
