Very nice place to stay in Almaty. Room is big and clean. It is close to popular attractions, about 7-minute taxi ride. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The small garden here is also very elegant, and there is a cute cat. Highly recommend.

Ive stayed in a lot of hotels over the years this was THE BEST HOTEL by far, in terms of value for money, location, facilities, staff, location just PERFECT book it you will not be disappointed, 10 out of 10. It’s a pillar in the central part of the city.

It’s a pillar in the central part of the city. It’s also called Republic Square and used to be a place where citizens of Almaty gathered for demonstrations or important hearings/ announces/ speeches ( during soviet era), and celebrations. Other than that there are a bunch of municipal or government buildings flanking it and ugly apartments from the soviet era in the background. Don’t make a special trip to see this…as did I. Waste of time. It is close to the Central State Museum. So if you plan to visit the museum you can also Tick Republic Square ( Independence Monument) off your list of attractions to see. As a solo trip to visit this location my vote is a strong No! Don’t go just to visit this.
