Take a green touristico bus out and hire a guide when you get there. Our guide was soo great! Very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. Wish i remembered his name. Eduardo I think. 🤷♀️ Also, go early in the morning. Less direct sun. No shade there. Be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen and maybe a sarong to cover up. Have fun! Great pre-Maya (Zepotlan) site.
Great pre-Maya (Zepotlan) site. Plan on staying at least 2-3 hours. It's about 30-60 mins from the main square in Oaxaca, depending on the traffic which can be really bad. From entrance, there is a lot of uphill walking and it is not very accessible to those with walking issues. Gerardo, the host, was incredibly friendly and available 24/7. Communication was seamless, and he went above and beyond by welcoming us with Mezcal shots, booking a fantastic Monte Albán tour with Armando, and arranging a taxi to the bus station. The rooms were spotless, comfy, and cleaned daily. The common kitchen was a great touch with morning coffee, a huge fridge with designated compartments, and drinking water always available.
