Really great lodge right next to Kruger. We stayed here only for a night before driving into Kruger the next day, but it was such a good evening. When we arrived we immediately jumped into the refreshing pool and had a chat and a beer with the other people who stayed at the lodge. Then the owners of the lodge prepared an amazing braai for us and we ate together with everyone who stayed there, which was so cozy! Highly recommend if you are looking for a familial vibe and cozy hangout with other travellers.

The location is beautiful! Next to the park entrance, wildlife near the lodge. Very friendly staff, very caring. The room was spatious and everything you need is there!

If there's a better way to experience the bush of the Kruger region than basing your stay at Mbizi Bush Lodge, I can't imagine what it is. Mbizi is located in the Grietjie reserve, a reserve contiguous with the Kruger park itself with no wildlife fence in between. It's a small, intimate lodge right in the middle of the bush with nothing to fence the wildlife out. You'll be as close to the wildlife as its sensible to get (and never closer than sensible). While we were there, Elephants came several times to drink their fill right out of the swimming pool. It was not just thrilling, but also pretty moving to be able to experience these awe inspiring animals so closely (yet safely). The owners of the lodge, Bjorn and Divya, are perfect hosts and an incredible team. Bjorn's game drives through Grietjie, early morning and late afternoon, are always an adventure. He has a sixth sense for finding wildlife and knows their behavior well enough to maneuver into the optimum position to observe them. Divya, meanwhile, provides delicious home cooked breakfasts and gourmet dinners with a broad international range, a real Yotam Ottolenghi of the bush. She's also an excellent story teller with a great sense of humor. She makes everyone feel immediately like old family friends. Lodging is in a set of rondavels a few hundred feet from the main dining and pool area. They provide a nice touch of luxury right in the bush, comfy beds, terrific showers, with the sounds of the veld right outside the door. Kruger proper is only 45 minutes away, close to the north/south center of the long park, so it's extremely well placed to explore Kruger. But we found Grietjie itself to be just as beautiful, with just as much wildlife, so you can do a lot of driving, or a little, and still have a great, wild life packed, bush experience; all for an extremely reasonable price. I can't imagine the more expensive lodges are even a smidgen better.

My fiancée and I had 3 spectacular days at Muweti Lodge! Mike, Laura, Neil and staff are extraordinary people! The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, we felt as if we were at home or visiting our parents' house because the reception and care they showed us were exceptional! They truly care about each guest's well-being and how everyone is feeling. We have dietary restrictions. Every meal was served considering our restrictions. Regarding the lodge, the experience of being immersed in the savanna is indescribable! The room is very comfortable and spacious, with a comfy bed, a very nice bathroom, and a balcony with an amazing view. You can see some many animals from within the property! They provide game drives twice a day, and it was incredible. We saw many animals! On the game drives their focus is always on providing the best experience for the guests! The meals were very good and diverse! Every night a campfire was lit and all people at place had a good moments! We hope to return to Muweti soon! We are already recommending the place to everyone who asks us about our experiences in South Africa!

The views from the property were beautiful, the food excellent, and our room absolutely dreamy. Our guide Matt was knowledgeable, funny, and did a great job including us in the search for various animals. The rest of the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming and thoughtful. We came for our honeymoon so some of the special touches like a private dinner were much appreciated.
