San Ignacio
With garden views, Sweet Songs Jungle Lodge is located in San Ignacio and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. We loved the surroundings and staff. Rooms are a little older, but very clean and comfortable. Pool was really nice and well maintained. River tubing was fun, but a little hike to get to the entry and exit. We rented a car and drove from Belize City. Was easy to find, but road to the lodge was a bit rough and steep. Missed my AWD/4X4 on the last 2 miles. Meals there were excellent. We did not do the all inclusive. Overall it felt like a land based cruise where our family could do individual things during the day and we could meet up for meals and time at the pool easily.

Our bungalow at Yuma's Riverfront Lodge was gorgeous! Beautiful, modern design, luxurious bedding, spacious bathroom with rain shower, stocked bar fridge & snacks, and incredible rainforest views from our private deck. The new pool was very refreshing, and home-cooked breakfast served at their outdoor kitchen before our daily adventures was amazing! Our stay highly exceeded our expectations for the price - it was glorious for our family (2 adults and 2 teenagers). We used Xplore Inland Tours for three adventures near San Ignacio / Santa Elena: (1) Guided Moutain Pine Ridge Tour (including a visit to Rio Frio Cave, then a traditional Belizian picnic lunch, and a stop to swim in pools and waterfalls at Rio On Pools); (2) Guided Cave Tubing at Nohoch Che'en; and (3) Horseback Riding under the rainforest canopy along a beautiful river. This is a smaller, family-run tour operator that gave us private tours for a better price that huge tour operators with giant groups. Best of both worlds - our guides were amazing and we got such personalized service! They even picked us up and dropped us off at Yuma's Riverfront Lodge each day, instead of us having to find our own way into San Ignacio. Perfect! 10/10

Here’s a polished and engaging travel review for Banana Bank Lodge:
A True Gem of Hospitality and Community
My stay at Banana Bank Lodge was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine care. The staff couldn’t do enough for me—attentive, kind, and always ready to assist. Their dedication to guest satisfaction truly sets this place apart.
What makes Banana Bank Lodge extraordinary isn’t just its breathtaking surroundings or the comfort it offers, but the passion and heart that go into every aspect of it. The owner is a true gentleman, going above and beyond to share the incredible history of the lodge and the meaningful work he and his wife have dedicated themselves to. This is far more than just a lodge or farm; it’s a living testament to their deep-rooted commitment to the land, the people, and the culture.
Their philosophy is evident in every detail—from their respect for nature to their efforts in uplifting the local community. They don’t just run a business; they are actively making a positive impact wherever possible. It’s a shining example of how tourism can be a force for good, blending sustainability, hospitality, and cultural enrichment.
Thank you, Banana Bank Lodge, for an unforgettable experience. I left not just with wonderful memories but with deep admiration for what you stand for. If you’re looking for a stay that’s more than just a vacation—a place that truly touches the heart—this is it.
Highly recommended!

The staff were so friendly and accommodating, the on-site cooks made delicious meals every day for breakfast and dinner. The pool and hammocks made for an extremely relaxing experience. It was nice to just be outside of the hustle and bustle of San Ignacio. We stayed in the guacamaya lodge.
This property was nestled in the mountain Pine Ridge area, very accessible to tourist attractions, and what I liked about it was that it was an ecological lodge. It was so peaceful and beautiful.
The grounds at the lodger were beautiful! We enjoyed the activities that we were able to book through Sweet Songs, and all of the staff were friendly. Rita was the best bartender!
Loved the lodge! It exceeded my expectations on so many levels! I highly recommend! The pool is fabulous! The food is delicious!
We loved so many things about Vanilla Hills Lodge, from the warm welcome and infinity pool to seeing so many wild birds and other animals and our adorable tree house. The lodge and our tree house was immaculate. We were expecting to deal with bugs but even in the heat, we were pleasantly surprised to not have any issues at all. The food was delicious and the owners are so knowledgeable and kind. We would highly recommend Vanilla Hills Lodge to any couple or family staying in or near San Ignacio. We can’t wait to come back!
The staff was just amazing. So kind, thoughtful and accommodating. Even took me down to the river on a personal tour to help me get in the water, make sure I was safe, etc. The food was better than the food we had in Rome and Venice; I kid you not. Terrific value. And then the bathroom was amazing; so beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with coffee in the AM listening to the birds. The coffee machine and coffee provided were sublime. The tours and transportation the lodge connected us with were terrific.
Luxurious stay by the river. Don't be shy to ask for pickup by the owner in a 4x4 if your vehicle can't make it on a rainy day. It is worth the effort. The lodges are superbly furnished.
This amazing jungle/river lodge exceeded our expectations. The view is simply spectacular and food is delicious and fresh from farm to table. The waterfalls, river and natural pool to swim in is a real treat. When you look up at the lodges on the side of the hill (from the waterfalls), you can’t stop marvel at how beautifully designed this place is.
Amazing location, very peaceful. Lodges are brand new and very beautiful and spacious. The bed is super comfortable.
