Located in Mantanani Island, GreenHouse Lodge provides accommodation with access to a garden. The property boasts reusable plastic materials, using energy-saving lighting and conserving rainwater. The best stay I’ve had in years! 🏝️This is truly a relaxing Island experience and an opportunity for you to unwind in a secluded location. Thank you Sook Peng and Fred for helping my stay feels like home! They have arranged the transfer quite seamlessly, I got picked up from the hotel early morning to the pier and then to the island. The view is truly amazing as the lodge is right in front of the sea. They have everything you need for this Island: kayaks, snorkel masks, beach mats and coconuts (and beer which is a rare commodity in the island)! Thank you Sook Peng for the wonderful breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s wonderful to enjoy a hearty home-cooked meal by the sea. I also get to taste some delicious farm-to-table vegetables they’ve grown from their aquaponics farm ♥️ I’ve enjoyed my time on the island, there’s a dive centre 5-min walk from the lodge and it’s convenient if you’d like to join a dive or two. My room is right in front of the sea with a little garden, sun lounge area and a private entrance to the beach. You’re surrounded by nature and animals, I’ve seen cats, cows, tree frogs, big green turtles and more. Just be prepared for mosquitos at night, you can spray the room before you leave for dinner, I’ve also bought a “Deep Woods” repellent and some repellent wristbands which comes in quite handy. There’s no aircon in the room but the island breeze does help, the room is well-ventilated and there’s a fan and cooling machine in the room. Truly an amazing getaway, I must come back again!

Loved everything, the bungalow is magical and the stuff is great. They take care in the best way of you in this remote piece of paradise. Definitely worth the journey to reach. Majutusasutus paikneb 100 meetri pikkusel mäel, kust avaneb vaade Kinabatangani metsakaitsealale. Last Frontier Boutique Resort asub Bilitis, kaunist Sandakani tänavast 2-tunnise autosõidu kaugusel. This place is really amazing. We searched a lot to choose the right package for Kinabatangan River and this was really the best choice. Such friendly and helpful staff, we felt so welcome. There are only a few rooms, no big tourism and that's why you feel so comfortable here. (Don't be put off by the stairs, they are easy to climb). Every dish was delicious (even vegetarian at my special request) and the banana pancakes with caramel sauce? OMG the best pancakes we've ever had! The river cruises were very relaxing and we saw all the animals (monkeys, crocodiles, hornbills, elephants). We even had an orangutan outside our room visible from our window! We had an unforgettable experience here. Thank you very much Gert and the team, you are doing an excellent job.

Tidy & clean, with a decent restaurant on-site so not necessary to drive out to eat. Toiletries are sufficient. Thoughtful details in the room. Pleasantly surprised to find this in such a location.

Great place to stay in the Kinabatangan River. We only stayed one night but got to see Borneo’s Big 5! Staff were fantastic, food lovely. Would definitely recommend. Thank you! Hayley & Justin.

Really amazing place to stay near all of the sights in Sepilok. I chose to walk everywhere and it seemed to be in a pretty central location. Food was tasty and staff was friendly.

Everything was perfect – from our stunning sea-view room to the warm, welcoming staff who made us feel at home. Waking up to that turquoise water every morning was magical! The food was fresh and tasty, with lots of variety. We loved the island hopping and snorkeling – swimming with turtles and exploring vibrant reefs was unforgettable. Relaxing, beautiful, and full of adventures – we didn’t want to leave! Can’t wait to return.

If you're looking for a place to be away from the world, and like to be surrounded by beautiful nature and the best beaches, look no further. Howard is definitely the best host on the island! He takes you to and from the beach and goes out of his way to make your stay wonderful. We only stayed for 2 nights, but we wish it was 20! We slept in a simple hut with only a mattress and a fan, with showers and toilets very close by. Don't expect a lot of luxury here, but that's all part of the experience. The only other feedback I'd like to give is that the price is quite high if you're looking purely at the state of your bedroom, especially for a backpacker budget. But still, we would pay it over and over again because the service, the location and the experience make it so worth it! Don't skip this place when visiting Borneo, it's the most magical part of the island!
