We had a truly wonderful stay at Rock Shade Chalet – Sigiriya. The chalet was clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with a beautiful natural setting close to the main attractions. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and freshly prepared, making our stay very comfortable. A special mention goes to Mr. Lasantha, who gave us massive support throughout our stay. His warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care made a big difference. Furthermore, he arranges Sri Lankan cooking lessons for foreign guests, which is a wonderful initiative to share our food and culture with the world. What impressed us most is that all of this is offered at an affordable price, and the team works tirelessly 24/7 to give their very best to guests. Overall, Rock Shade Chalet is a perfect place for a peaceful family getaway, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sigiriya.

The breakfast was good and substantial. Sadeepa, the hosts' son, helped me a lot. He advised on the walks up both Pidurangala and Sigiriya Rocks. As he had a tuk tuk it was easy to get to each of the Rocks to do a sunrise walk. He kindly came early in the morning to pick me up and charged a fair rate. Sadeepa also helped me to get my laundry done and was a great help, which made my stay very easy and pleasant.

Very nice place, outside the center (aprox 30 minutes walking) but 1 minute away from the main road where u can take the bus to the center. The family is super sweet and try to help as much as possible. Great breakfast 😊🙏

He arranged the best tours for me to do. He was available to take me everywhere I wanted at the time that I wanted. Really no complaints. The room was comfortable, cozy and the outside part is very chill with a lot of nature. If your going to Sigiriya, this is the best accommodation you can get.

Majiteli jsou velmi milí a přátelští manželé, usměvaví a vždy ochotní pomoci. Pokoj krásný, čistý a na skvělém místě, jen kousek od Lion Rock. Bazén také super, osvětlený, bylo možné ho používat i za tmy. Jídlo skvělé, nebyl problém připravit nám snídani i velmi brzy ráno. Moc děkujeme a určitě doporučujeme.

We recently visited Sigiri Lake Paradise. The host had ensured that a driver would pick us up from the airport as we arrived at 03:00 am. The drive itself took 2-2,5 hour and once we arrived we were served with tea and coffee, even though that the check-in time at the homestay, was at 11:00. We went up to the rock next to the house and saw this amazing sunrise. We are very grateful for the assistance we received from the owners. The breakfast was great and included both fresh fruits and local breakfast cuisines. Every night we ate dinner at the homestay, which we highly recommend. We were fortunate enough to help prepare a traditional Sri Lankan dinner, which also was a great experience. The family helped us getting to attractions such as Lion Rock and the Golden Cave temple. They were also a great help with regards to arranging a safari tour. Though it’s a bit far from the main road, we had no trouble walking the 2.5 km or getting transportation from the family. Overall, we were very happy at Sigiri Lake Paradise and wholeheartedly recommend it.
