Tugela River Lodge ligt aan de oevers van de rivier de Tugela, 22 km ten noorden van Winterton. We really enjoyed our time at Tugela River Lodge. There’s so many things to do within the property like kayak, mountain bike, trails, and little farm area. It’s very clean and the staff and owner are super friendly and always willing to assist. The farm stall has a lot of supplies, so if you forget anything you wouldn’t even need to drive out. Very pet friendly as well - everything we could do with our little mini dachshund. She loved her time there and the fenced off area is big and safe. The wood-fired tub is an amazing way to wind down. The view is amazing and Bheki always comes to help fire it up ahead of time. All in all a fantastic experience as a couple, and I’m sure it’d be lovely for a family and friends group too!

Amazing nature around, great garden to chill and a lot to explore in the garden, the accomodation is very spacious and you have everything you need for cooking. Very warm hosts, we really enjoyed our time there and highly recommend it!We had a lovely time!

Greenfire Drakensberg Lodge ligt in Kruisfontein en biedt een bar, zonne-energie en blokhutten in Canadese stijl. U kunt genieten van uitzicht op de omliggende bergen en natuurreservaten. As a solo female traveller, this was the perfect destination to unplug from the buzz of city life. 3.5hrs from Jhb, I chose it because it is safe and the views of the mountains are SPECTACULAR. I was welcomed by Sam upon my arrival and immediately the warmth of the lodge was felt. I am a return guest, and I returned because my first time at this property was absolutely incredible. Coming back was always a question of when, not if. The lodge itself is really well maintained, the cabins are clean and stunning. I really like the hot water provided in the morning for tea/coffee with a rusk. The wood for the fireplace adds a nice touch as well for those cold and rainy nights. A special shoutout to the staff, they were great, I was always greeted with warmth and a smile. The greatest appeal of this place is the location, the hiking trails and the closeness of the mountains, but then there is the food. I was fed so well and so much! All my meals were something to look forward to. I was grateful for the packed lunch on the day I opted to be out walking/hiking at lunchtime. I loved that the dinners were essentially interesting takes on clean, whole foods. The hiking trails offer something for everyone (long and short routes), and I took advantage and walked/hiked as much as I could. Take a good strong pair of walking/hiking shoes and sunscreen. Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough, whether for a solo traveller, a couple or a family/group. Greenfire is like no other! Nature at its BEST.

De Montusi Mountain Lodge biedt een bar en ligt op 44 km van Bergville. Het beschikt over gratis WiFi, een kinderspeeltuin en een zwembad. Gasten kunnen hier fietsen huren en ontspannen in de tuin. The Montusi Mountain Lodge is really beautiful. The lodge is beautifully located and elegantly designed. We enjoyed the scenic view so much. The bungalows are well maintained. It was really cozy in there. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast & dinner was the best we have had in ZA so far. We wish, we could have stayed longer!

Winterton Lodge @ Rose Cottage wordt omgeven door groen en beschikt over een kinderzwembad. De elegant ingerichte accommodaties van Winterton zijn voorzien van satelliet-tv en een eigen badkamer. Immense apartment in a jungle-like setting; congenial hostess; quiet; close to shopping for supplies; lots of bird life; extremely competitive pricing; wished I had booked more than one night!

River Bend Farm in Lidgetton biedt accommodatie met uitzicht op de tuin, een buitenzwembad, een fitnesscentrum, een tuin, een gedeelde lounge en een terras. We loved this lucky find - River Bend Farm was just gorgeous- the endless views of hills, trees and river are stunning. The accommodation is super comfortable and the shower was bliss! Jenny and Earl were so welcoming, friendly and really passionate about this beautiful area! Thank you for a wonderful visit-we will be back!
