Langa Langa Tented Safari Camp with its safari drives into both Kruger and Sabi Sands is extremely value for money. It allowed us two different experiences - one from a short distance while on the road (Kruger) and upclose and personal with the animals (Sabi Sands). The tents were very comfortable, the spread of food provided daily was more than adequate with 3 meals provided a day in the price, the food was absolutely delicious. Langa Langa staff were all extremely kind, happy and hardworking - both in the camp and on safari. Jack, our Langa Langa guide who brought us into Kruger for safaris, and Jurie, our Sabi Sands guide who brought us into Sabi Sands for safaris, both went the extra mile to get us great sightings of the Big 5 (which we did!). We had an absolutely wonderful time at Langa Langa and would highly recommend it to our friends and family. (:

If there's a better way to experience the bush of the Kruger region than basing your stay at Mbizi Bush Lodge, I can't imagine what it is. Mbizi is located in the Grietjie reserve, a reserve contiguous with the Kruger park itself with no wildlife fence in between. It's a small, intimate lodge right in the middle of the bush with nothing to fence the wildlife out. You'll be as close to the wildlife as its sensible to get (and never closer than sensible). While we were there, Elephants came several times to drink their fill right out of the swimming pool. It was not just thrilling, but also pretty moving to be able to experience these awe inspiring animals so closely (yet safely). The owners of the lodge, Bjorn and Divya, are perfect hosts and an incredible team. Bjorn's game drives through Grietjie, early morning and late afternoon, are always an adventure. He has a sixth sense for finding wildlife and knows their behavior well enough to maneuver into the optimum position to observe them. Divya, meanwhile, provides delicious home cooked breakfasts and gourmet dinners with a broad international range, a real Yotam Ottolenghi of the bush. She's also an excellent story teller with a great sense of humor. She makes everyone feel immediately like old family friends. Lodging is in a set of rondavels a few hundred feet from the main dining and pool area. They provide a nice touch of luxury right in the bush, comfy beds, terrific showers, with the sounds of the veld right outside the door. Kruger proper is only 45 minutes away, close to the north/south center of the long park, so it's extremely well placed to explore Kruger. But we found Grietjie itself to be just as beautiful, with just as much wildlife, so you can do a lot of driving, or a little, and still have a great, wild life packed, bush experience; all for an extremely reasonable price. I can't imagine the more expensive lodges are even a smidgen better.

Situated in the Balule Nature Reserve, Muweti Bush Lodge offers the opportunity for wildlife encounters at its waterhole, where elephants and other game come to drink. The photos on Booking.com don't do justice to this delightful camp, with a capacity of 6 guests! Lovely setting around a magnificent pool area,and large luxury tent accomodation.Food was fabulous, and the game drives were great,in particular our last morning one where we sat amongst a pride of lions,and then a herd of Elephants.Thanks Hardis (and Valerie),and Neil.

Situated along the Olifants River, Bushriver Lodge features two swimming pools and a large deck with BBQ facilities. Fantastic and unique experience. You sleep in the middle of a wildlife park where the animals roam freely. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The best place we stayed during our entire trip through South Africa.

Naledi Lodges lies within the Balule Game Reserve and is located 25 km from Hoedspruit. It boasts panoramic views of the African savannah and features an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant and bar. Incredible stay at Naledi! We were speechless at the views, hospitality and food. We spent 4 days and 3 nights and wished we’d stayed more. Everything about this place is 5 ⭐️. The game drives were incredible with Erick and Kel. They went to every effort to show us the best and guide us along the way. The service and views in the lodge were unbelievable. We will 100% return but for longer. We can’t thank everyone at Naledi enough!

Pondoro is set on the banks of the Olifants River inside the 50 000 ha Balule Private Game Reserve inside the Greater Kruger National Park (Game drive traverse 30 000 acres). The property is perfect, we just loved it.
