The location was beautiful with mountain views. All the staff was very helpful and exceptionally friendly. The breakfast was worth it- complete and varied. In overall, I enjoy my stay. Will definitely recommend!

Amazing place in a beautiful setting with super helpful staff who clearly take pride in this wonderful experience. Pools are lovely and relaxing with lots of different areas of bubbles / jets / saunas/ steam room etc. rooms are a good size and very comfortable. Food is amazing with lots of choices ( we are vegetarian) and the even the breakfast coffee tastes lovely! ( unusual!)

This hotel in Guarda’s centre is located at Portugal’s highest point, at 1000 metres altitude. It has a restaurant overlooking Serra da Estrela. We liked all the experience: Reception was very proactive, while arriving. The room, room facilities and view excellent! Breakfast yummy, and plus options (even for lactose intolerance). Bar options, cocktails and view awesome.

Hotel di design situato sulle montagne del Parco Naturale della Serra da Estrela, la Casa das Penhas Douradas - Burel Expedition Hotel offre camere con vista sulle montagne e servizi, tra cui una TV... Found this place somewhat randomly and spent 3 night in their basic rooms, with the deck. The architecture, interior design, food, and most importantly service were impeccable and very high value for the money we spent. Especially the staff.. they went above an beyond to make sure you felt welcome and pampered. Great location if you want to spend a bit of time away and up in the mountains (hills) of Portugal. Highly recommended. p.s. We did make a stop for dinner at the higher rated (5 star) hotel owned by the same group. This location compared to that felt nicer. Both the interior design and people felt a lot warmer here.

TerraSense Mountain Charm Retreat & Farm si trova a Videmonte, a 21 km da Guarda Cathedral e 22 km da Guarda Castle. We loved our stay at TerraSense! Travelled with our 2 kids and stayed at the villa. It was super clean and well equipped. The views to the mountains are incredible. The little ceiling on the upper floor allowing to see the stars at nights made our kids go crazy with joy. The host treated us so well and catered for all our needs, including a dinner in because my husband wasn’t feeling too well. Breakfast was also delicious. We saw the farm animals shortly before leaving and wondered how nice it must be during summer time (we went during peak winter). Would recommend it to anyone looking to rest and disconnect in the middle of nature.
