Yuki was a wonderful host and there were just the right amount of amenities for a comfortable stay. The outdoor Onsen is very beautiful in the nature and the food is fabulous. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Facilities are a bit old but kept well and very clean.

Overlooking Kagoshima Bay, Hakusuikan boasts an outdoor pool and a variety of spacious indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths, including a Sunamushi sand hot-spring. This hotel was a very nice surprise. Our room was exceptional - a very spacious, luxurious room with four different areas. The entry way to our room as well as the furnishings in the room were beautiful. It was a great place to relax. The view from our windows was magnificent! Our dinner was very delicious and filling. The breakfast was also very good. The hot sand bath - sunamushi sakaba - was a new, great experience for us. The onsen area is very large and clean, a nice place to soak after a long day. If you go, enjoy the bar located by the onsen - it's free to hotel guests and the bartender was very kind.

The house is brand-new with a modern design, and our room was spacious, spotless, and included a tatami-floor bedroom with very comfortable beds. The host was so kind and always ready to help us with anything we needed. One of the highlights was the private onsen, which was very relaxing after our long day. The location is also fantastic: just a short walk to a beautiful lookout point and the famous Hirauchi Kaichū Onsen nearby. We truly enjoyed our time here and will definitely come back if we visit Yakushima again!

貸切温泉宿 Shiny inn Kirishimaシャイニーイン霧島 in Kirishima biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi, op 17 km van Ebino-plateau. Everything! Spacious, super clean, well, wonderful view, the owner was responsive and super nice, helped us with anything we needed. Everything about it was so convenient and comfortable. So many outlets, great Wi-Fi, washing machine, and of course, the highlight - a private onsen! Really a wonderful stay.

天然温泉旅館 繁花荘せせらぎ bevindt zich in Kirishima, op 46 km van station Kagoshima-Chūō, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, gratis privéparkeren en een bar. Absolutely magical place, hidden in a mountain valley, surrounded by lush forest. The rooms look directly onto the river and are very generously spaced. Sadly we were only there for one night. Big mistake, it feels like you could spend an eternity there.

指宿 潮音 Ibusuki Shione bevindt zich in Ibusuki, op 47 km van station Kagoshima-Chūō, en biedt gratis WiFi, gratis privéparkeren en uitzicht op de zee. This is one of our favourite accommodations during our one week trip in Kyushu. The location is perfect, esp if you had a car. Less than 10 minute drive to the Saraku Sand Bath, supermarket and JR station. It's also close to Ryugu Jingu and Tamatebako Onsen. The room has a big balcony with ocean view, and it was superb to watch the sunset and sunrise. The room has enough amenities and cooking equipments to make a small meal. The beds are large and comfortable. The natural onsen was a surprise bonus, and it is true onsen because we could smell sulphur from it! The host, Takada-san, showed us spectacular hospitality from the very beginning. The responses were always quick and warm. We deeply feel the love Takada-san have for Ibusuki. Ibusuki is such a lovely ocean village with high quality onsen, and the best sashimi I have ever had (among my 5 visits to Japan). We highly recommend everyone to visit Ibusuki and stay at Takada-san's accommodation!
