Ideally situated in the centre of Kyoto, ALA HOTEL KYOTO features air-conditioned rooms, a fitness centre, free WiFi and a restaurant. This 4-star hotel provides a spa experience, with its hot spring bath and spa centre. The hotel offers a sauna and a 24-hour front desk. 10/10 stay - the hotel exceeded all expectations. It is beautifully decorated and feels very luxurious. Staff were incredibly polite and helpful with every request, and were some of the most friendly and helpful staff we’ve every encountered. The on-site laundry is super useful and free of charge. The onsen facilities were wonderful (but bear in mind they are not available to tattooed guests). The room was large , well laid out and very clean. The pretty zen gardens on each floor were a nice touch. This hotel is a steal for the price - would recommend to anyone visiting Kyoto (and gives a little taste of a ryokan experience while staying at a hotel).

The property is non-smoking and is situated 400 metres from Gion Shijo Station. Second time staying at this beautiful hotel. First things first, the staff are just wonderful. The Onsen has an incredible view (be sure to stay two nights, as there are two Onsens. But only one with a view. Gender is swapped each day. The rooftop bar with foot baths is a lovely touch. The rooms are very comfortable and the location is perfect. Again the staff are incredible. We will never stay anywhere else in Kyoto. Can't wait to return!!

No shoes in the premise makes the entire hotel feel clean. Fantastic breakfast. Fantastic onsen with various types of bath to choose. The receptionists can speak basic english as well.

This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property.

There are 2 indoor hot springs baths and an open-air bath at the property. This was the best value for money stay I had this trip. Highly recommend opting for dinner to be included with your stay. The steamed vegetables and meat with rice and soup was a sumptuous, healthy yet delicious meal especially at the end of a day's big hike. The dorm beds were comfortable, and it was a really nice luxury to get a private onsen experience (especially the outdoor one). Though there was no convenience store around, the hostel has a very good range of snacks, instant noodles, buns at good prices so you don't have to worry about not having food around.

Guests can wear colourful yukata robes at the property. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. Place was cool, traditional style ryokan with lovely staff and great location. They really went to extreme to ensure that we reach the best Kinosaki-experience. I forgot my ring, noticed it in the bus station and accepted my faith. However, they had noticed my ring and rushed to the bus to bring it to me - this is an example of their heartfelt attirude towards guests

It is very peaceful and a nice 15 minute walk to many restaurants and beach. The staff made us feel so welcome. The bakery is top notch. I have had very delicious baked goods in multiple European countries, and this is right up there. We thought at first the mattress was a little firm(this seems standard in Japan), but ended up sleeping well.

Definitely worth checking out early am when it’s public or reserving it. Steam room, big cold pool and hot spring. Breakfast was also very good!
