The onsen on every floor is a treat with good amenities. This a hotel that I totally stay again!

Gableview Forest Inn perfectly located for travelers who seeking peace and quite after full busy day of sightseeing. The hosts are very friendly and attentive. Elisabeth was very helpful, giving a lot of information, including places to have a great food. She also kindly drove us to the station and around Nikko and offered pick up in the evening. Two onsen' at the property were a great bonus! Satoshi san is an exceptional chef! The dinner he prepares is a must try experience! All in all very enjoyable experience. I will definitely come back to stay at the Gablevie Forest Inn again.

Hotel Hanaan ligt in Nikko, op 15 km van schrijn Nikko Toshogu en 17 km van station Tobu Nikko. Elke accommodatie bij de ryokan met 4 sterren heeft uitzicht op het meer en gratis WiFi. Staff was extremely friendly and able to fully correspond in English. Dinner and breakfast were both beautiful, unique and delicious. They really cater to making the most of the regional Tochigi cuisine and specialties. Room was clean and all the amenities were well though out and high quality. The room with the open air bath was well worth it alone so everything else was a bonus. I did not check out the public bath due to tattoo policy.

I was originally interested in this hotel because I read that the Onsen had a Museum full of Kishio Suga's work. I had been following this amazing Japanese artist for a number of years... so that fact was a deciding factor for me. But, the Onsen, the staff, the care that we felt they put into everything they did, the atmosphere of the place, the gardens also designed by Kishio Suga, the delightful guests we had the pleasure of meeting, our room and the food we were served - and let's not forget the tour of the museum! - made me love this place. Itamuro Onsen Daikokuya has history. Someone told us that the Onsen was 500 years old. Most of the Japanese guests we met there went to purely relax. The kind and capable staff take amazing care of all the guests: A Japanese friend in Tokyo told me I should celebrate the Winter Solstice while I was in Nasushiobara. She explained that on that one day, it had always been traditionally celebrated by putting YUZU fruit in Japanese baths and eating something made of pumpkin. I asked the hotel about all this. I really don't think it was part of their plan... but, they did it all: the YUZU in the baths and the specially prepared Pumpkin desserts. It was all to please us, their guests, and make sure our stay was perfect. I was so grateful and felt so pampered and happy. I enjoyed that fruit in the Japanese bath more than you can imagine. So, If you want to relax in a beautiful Onsen with history, go see great art at the. Suga museum, to have a beautiful experience,and be pampered in a very Japanese sort of way...you must come to Itamuro Onsen Daikokuya.

Established in 1666, Honke Bankyu is housed in a registered historical building. The Japanese rooms feature traditional decor, futon bedding and a flat-screen TV. We had a lovely room with a view of the river and cozy futons. The onsen were excellent, especially the private ones, and we enjoyed the Kaiseki dinner and the breakfast. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. We really loved our stay and would definitely like to come again.

Annex Turtle Hotori-An ligt naast de rivier de Daiya en groene bossen, op ongeveer 20 minuten lopen van de heiligdommen van Nikko. Het beschikt over warmwaterbronbaden met uitzicht op de rivier. This was a delightful small family hotel . Loved the private onsen . The room was extremely comfortable. The staff was amazing . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay .
