The property is lush and beautiful with incredible views over the Vjosa river. The hosts were extremely kind, from the moment we arrived they welcomed us as if we were family. Even though we could not speak Albanian, communication was easy. They prepared a delicious authentic dinner for us, as well as a really nice breakfast. I would not describe the room as modern, but cosy and super comfortable!

It's hard to summarize my emotional rollercoaster for that day. I had a pretty dreadful day in the back country and rolled into the villa quite late. To my surprise I was greeted and treated as if I came come home to family. Before I could unpack I had plates of food, stories, wine, it was amazing. The location is gorgeous. Plants and flowers everywhere. Grapevines pumping out little grapes for the wine. The pictures looked nice although it wasn't until I actually got there where I stopped and it really hit me how beautifully set the place is. Breakfast was also A+ with extra fruits picked right off the trees. It honestly felt like a little retreat at a family member that wanted to spoil you.

We really enjoyed our stay at this village hotel. The place was quiet and peaceful, perfect to relax and enjoy nature. The room was clean and comfortable, and the people were very friendly and helpful. The best part was the food! The restaurant served amazing traditional dishes. We especially loved the grilled lamb – it was fresh, tender, and full of flavor. A perfect place to rest, eat well, and enjoy the countryside. We would love to come back!

That is an example of Albanian Hospitality! You feel like visiting your aunt. That feeling is unforgettable! Clean room, new bedding and SUPER breakfast (with fresh goat milk!)! The garden setting at Vila Bakaij was a real treat. The garden was full of all kinds of flowers and fruit trees. The local sheep wandered outside the property making this a nice change from staying in the city. The accommodation had a comfortable bed. The facilities were well cared for and in great condition.
