Well, we expected this hotel to be good ! It wasn't good... it was really really great. From the moment we arrived, we felt I to was going to be special and we were right. Our host, Christina, brought us to our room (a Deluxe Queen Suite) and we loved it straight away. It had everything and more than we expected. It overlooked the Haidplaz so we had a prime view on all the activity going on below... but the windows were so good, we could shut out the noise if and when we wanted. The large bed was superbly comfortable. The room was also large so we had lots of space. The bathroom was a perfect size and everything was spotlessly clean. The cooking area was well equipped and very functional. Breakfast was wonderful... A great choice of food, in lovely surroundings... a super way to start the day. Christina was so welcoming & lovely and she gave us great background to the hotel's history, the oldest part of which dates back to 1230, and its links to famous people through the ages. The other staff that we met were very pleasant & smiley and so helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect and all the sights are within easy walking distance... as is the train station. There is also two free bus routes (A & B) that pass by the hotel to take you around the city, if you want them. The tourist office has a free app that gives you a marvelous walking tour of the city. Regensburg is a special gem - very beautiful - not too big and not too small. Our top picks are the Bavarian Historical Museum, closely followed by the Thurn und Taxis Palace.. both are simply brilliant but in very different ways. There are tons of bars and restaurants within easy reach of the hotel. We would highly recommend a stay in Hotel Goldnes Kreus.

We liked absolutely everything about this spacious and modern apartment (we would give it 11 out of 10!!). Our host and her Mum were very welcoming and helpful and the apartment had everything required for a very pleasant stay. It was warm, comfortable and very quiet. The private parking space was 100m from the apartment and well worth the additional cost. We enjoyed walking to the Old Town from the apartment along the banks of the Danube and it only took us 10 minutes.

We had a stopover at Walhallahotel going from Luxembourg to Budapest with my wife. We choose the hotel because of the promising reviews and the convenient location. The experience was above our expectations: the communication was smooth, upon our arrival the staff was professional and super helpful, and the room and the hotel were designed with good taste and with high-quality materials. The bed was comfortable and the room`s cleanliness was impeccable. The breakfast had a wide variety of delicious and fresh options with great presentation and with very good food quality. Despite being a heavy light sleeper, I had a peaceful and quality sleep, so we decided to stay here again on our trip back home, to Luxembourg. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Will definitely be returning on our next visit, to discover more the Regensburg area!

Hotel was nice with the basics. You can walk/hike to the very nearby Walhalla Monument and Donau (Danube) River through nice woods and fields. Lots of free parking by the hotel.
